Sundays are always good time to relax and take a break in a very busy world. I woke up today and heard the songs of Plumb. It was refreshing. Her songs are amazing. I love listening to her songs because they are alternative rock and Christian alternative rock. Some of her songs were remixed and used as dance songs in bars and discos. The best remixes are the house ones.
I started appreciating Plumb or Tiffany Arbuckle Lee when I first heard her song "Stranded" from one of our local radio stations here in the city. It caught me so bad that I decided to purchase the album. Unfortunately, I was not able to find one in Radio City or Odyssey in Bacolod. So, in order for me to listen to the song over and over, I recorded it directly from our the radio using my very old cassette.
Since then, I became a big fan of Plumb. I downloaded her discography. And, every time I'm down, I listen to her songs especially the Contemporary Christian songs. But my favorite album of hers is the Beautiful Lumps of Coal. I really love the singles, Real and Boys Don't Cry.
REAL - PLUMB
BOYS DON'T CRY - PLUMB
So, if you are feeling down and losing hope, just listen to Plumb. Her songs can relieve your mind and soul. =)
I'm new at blogging but I love writing what I have in mind. I usually write about whatever stuff I encounter daily and use Evernote in my tablet as the closet of my literary works. But now i decided to post it as a blog. So let's get on with it. I love music (aside from food). That is why my very first blog is about it. Most of the time I'm into alternative, rock, new wave, house and trance. These sounds are my stress remedy, my company and my passion. Most people say music helps one relax after one hell of a day. And I totally agree with that. Whatever sound you trip on listening to, that's your choice. May it be soothing jazz or bossa nova music, relaxing tunes of the classic or ear-raging metal just as long as you like what you hear, nobody can stop you.
I started to appreciate those types of music when I was in grade school. While everyone was listening to Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and Hanson, I was listening to The Cranberries, No Doubt, Pearl Jam and U2. MTV has the greatest influence in my love for this art. I used to watch MTV 24/7 during the summer. There was no YouTube then, so I had to rely on the show for new releases. Once I like what I hear, I go to a local music store in our city and had my mom but me the album. So here are the top 5 songs I love listening to during the 90's:
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss (1999)
No Doubt - Sunday Morning (1997)
Goo Goo Dolls - Slide (1998)
The Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 (1996)
Silverchair - Miss You Love (1999)
I grew up with these songs and bands. Some, until now, are living up to their legends and still creating good music for the world to hear.
My obsession to music did start during my adolescent year. That was the time when kids at that particular age started to go to parties and disco bars. Every time I get to hear good songs, I usually approach the DJ and ask for the song title or who did the remix. I begun downloading songs I
hear from MTV, KillerBee 106.3/Jaime 102.3 (our local radio stations)
and the web. Then that was the time I was considered to be the class DJ since my cd compilations were not limited to alternative or pop songs but it included most type of songs such as house, trance, bossa nova, glam rock, and so on. But one genre made an impact to me, 'twas house music. I came to love the music because of the beat and I find "DJ-ing" a talent. And here are some of the house music that I mostly listen to in my iPod:
Oh my gosh! It's so hard to choose among my many favorite house music. But these are a few of my top most-listened-to songs. When you're listening to them you feel like you are being taken to another place or another dimension. So pump up the volume, turn off the lights, switch on the laser lights and blinkers and let's dance til the break of dawn.
